REGULAR SCHEDULED ACTIVITIES

 

Healing Touch Group meets 1st Wednesday of each month.
Persons wanting a healing touch treatment are encouraged to book an appointment for that afternoon The group meets for education and learning at 1:00 p.m.

Healing Touch is an ancient form of healing using prayer and hand movements. The movements and placement of the hands contributes to the persons well being using the various energy fields of the body. For further information contact Thelma Flemmer or Lois Demcoe.

Athabasca Peace Initiative Monthly meetings on the last Wednesday of each month at the Athabasca United Church.
Starts with potluck supper at 5:30 pm.
Anyone with a hope for peace is welcome to attend.
Our Purpose:  To develop and implement a vision for a Peace Institute based in Athabasca to learn about, teach and support peace building and peace keeping in our selves, families, communities, nations and
world.

Our Activities: Have included annual ethnic dinners with guest speakers, community forums on family violence, prayer services and vigils, film series, conferences on aspects of a culture of peace. All with a desire to build peace are welcome at our non-regular meetings at the Athabasca United Church.

Next dates:  November 11, 2010,  beginning at 3 pm with Reflection on Mark Twain's "War Prayer", followed by planning our next activities, and concluding with a potluck supper.
December 5, 2010 - "Beat the Drum" and prayer service related to the UN Declaration of Rights of Indigenous Peoples
