ANNA
Anna - (means "grace"), she met Joseph, Mary and the baby (right after Simeon had prophesied) during their Temple presentation (which was about 40 days after his birth) and then went out told about the birth of Jesus [Luke 2:36-38].
Anna was a prophetess who "spake of him to all them that looked for redemption in Jerusalem" of Jesus at his "dedication at the temple".
Only one of two prophetesses mentioned by name in the Bible, the other being Jezebel (a false prophetess, Rev. 2:20), Phillip's four daughters also prophesied [Acts 21:9].
She had (depending upon the translation) was a widow, and was 84 years old or been widowed for 84 years, which if she wedded at 15, married for 7, then widowed for 84, would put her at 106, (the second is probably correct since it says she was of a great age).
Also of note is that she is the only named descendent of the "lost" tribe of Asher. We do not have recorded what she said. She seems to be the first witness to tell to others of the child.
Luke says she "departed not from the temple", probably meant she attended all the hours of prayer, which were 9a-3p [Acts 2:15, 3:1] and any other time the doors were open.
